Reputation
by Taylor Swift
Personally, I believe Taylor Swift’s 6th album “Reputation” is criminally underrated and it is simply due to how much it is misrepresented. This album comes at you strong with intimidating pop anthems in its first few tracks, chanting “let the games begin” and asking listeners if they’re “ready for it.” But this hard exterior is immediately juxtaposed with delicate (pun intended) lyricism, exposing Swift’s innermost fears about relationships and the deep insecurities that have developed over a career full of media slander.
Going into this project, I wanted to lean into the album’s hard, rugged exterior to further deepen the juxtaposition between the sounds and lyrics of the album. I opted for different versions of the same type with varying levels of distortion to uphold this idea of mystery that the first act of the album presents. To bolster this, I also decided to include multiple images of Swift to imply that there are many different versions of her as perceived by the media.
